Relationship between knowledge and treatment satisfaction with psychological well-being among haemodialysis patients: a single center study

Background: Haemodialysis (HD) patients are subjected to bio-psychosocial stress in many ways even after successful hemodialysis session. Therefore, this study was designed survey on relationship between knowledge and treatment satisfaction with psychological well-being among haemodialysis patients.Methods: This cross-sectional included 100 HD who were referred emergency dialysis unit, nephrology transplant National Hospital, Kandy during the year 2019. Data collected using a self-administered questionnaire.Results: Mean age of group 45.17 (13.6) years; two dominant etiologies chronic renal failure diabetic nephropathy hypertension accounting for nearly 61% population. Only 19% presented emotional suffering 40% worried about their disease condition. However, majority satisfied nursing care nurses’ co-operation while they treatment. Moreover, confirmed helped reduce level. Further, compliance (p=0.000), staff attitudes (p=0.001), concern health issues (p=0.001) worrying kidney condition (p=0.000) had statistically significant association mental cohort.Conclusions: The topic stressors is very important receiving dialysis, as these affect psycho-social physiological wellbeing. Thus, team playing an role providing effective support.
